Project #20 - Star Rock

A great shot from the North canyon, overlooking the town, you can see Saloon #10 in the lower corner.

  • If you work your way off main street and up the North hill along the bluffs you’ll find Star Street, you can drive it about halfway before it starts to get a little washed out, and that’s where the fun starts on foot through the woods.

  • This was actually my first project, where I got the idea to use GPS and my skill set to do something different.

  • This one has little documentation in the historical record beyond the fact that it was a spur road connected to the original Centennial Road layout in 1891.

  • I have returned to this rock several times, and like everything in nature, it changes over time. The last time I was here, a group of trees had fallen across it; however, given time, it will likely become visible again.

Fun Nuggets:

Star Road, not passable with a car, you're on foot from here.
